Although #GivingTuesday has come and gone, we can’t help but celebrate the success that came with the day for the entire world – and for CaringCent. According to GivingTuesday.org, 71 countries participated raising $116.7 million total dollars garnering 1.3 million social media mentions! Let that sink in. If you’re a visual person like myself, this infographic created by The Case Foundation, gives us a pretty good look at 2015’s global day of giving.
And speaking of #GivingTuesday…how about those South Side Chicagoans blowing up our #GivingTuesday contest!
Brother Rice High School is a Catholic, all male college preparatory institution based in Chicago, Illinois. As the winning charity, the Crusaders received a $500 #GivingTuesday donation on behalf of CaringCent. And of course, we’re excited to have them on the CaringCent train! They’ve left the station:

But last Tuesday wasn’t just about contests. That morning the CaringCent team kicked it in high gear and began a #GivingTuesday donation blitz here in our home base of Albuquerque, NM. (You know, where Bugs Bunny always makes a wrong turn?). What started out as a #GivingTuesday blitz, quickly turned into #GivingWednesday, #GivingThursday, #GivingFriday… well, you get the picture. Our team spent the week visiting local nonprofits and we are pleased to say we visited every nonprofit – either in person or on-line, on Albuquerque’s Center for Nonprofit Excellence list! That’s a total of 103 NM nonprofits! We’re still trying to figure out how Santa does it all in one night, but we certainly gave him a run for his money.
While a certain red-nosed reindeer would’ve been a nice addition to the team, Captain CaringCent worked his own magic to get the job done. Our plan? Hand deliver a small donation to each nonprofit to showcase how quickly spare change from their donors can add up. Lucky for us, the week turned into much more than dropping off checks. We had the opportunity to meet remarkable people working with some amazing nonprofits to bring much needed services and supports to New Mexico and beyond. We love giving back to our hometown heroes and plan to help them move the #GivingTuesday mojo forward.

As we begin a new week here at CaringCent, we’re excited for the new charities who’ve joined CaringCent’s unique fundraising platform and we look forward to harnessing the spirit of #GivingTuesday year round! But, first, this guy needs just today to catch his breath!
